On Monday morning, November 30, 2009, Thompson Hall officially opened for business with a ribbon cutting ceremony lead by Head of School Barbara Riley. The Junior School students and faculty as well as other members of the Hopkins Community assembled at the new steps of Thompson Hall. Mrs. Riley spoke of the hard work and perseverance of so many members of the Hopkins Community: faculty, staff, trustees and alumni/ae alike, to see the building actualized. Before the ribbon was cut, teachers and Day Prospect Hill alumnae Donna Fasano and Peggy Vermiglia, sang the Day Prospect Hill song to commemorate the event. The ribbon was cut by Mrs. Fasano, and the excited students and faculty poured into the building to embark on their first day of classes in the new building.
