A visit from "Out of the Blue"
12/14/09
Hopkins alumna Emily Auchincloss '07 returned to campus on Friday, December 11 with a special treat for assembly, a performance by Yale's Out of the Blue.

Out of the Blue is Yale University's only co-ed rock/pop a cappella group, and have been "rocking the socks off" of New Haven and Connecticut since 1986. Combining pitch-perfect harmonies with a few dance moves, Out of The Blue renders popular music out of only their voices. The group entertained everyone at assembly by opening with "Never There" by Cake, then Auchincloss took the lead vocals on "Between the Lines" by Sara Bareilles, which led into "Won't Go Home Without You" by Maroon 5. The finale was "Higher Love" by Steve Winwood where every one of the 16 group members were featured in a few bars. It was a delightful way to start the day.
