On Thursday, February 25th, Michael Cunningham, author of
The Hours, visited Donna Fasano's Current American Literature class. Mr. Cunningham responded to an e-mail from Mrs. Fasano that described the final "test" on
The Hours: baking a cake, from scratch, as a reenactment of his character, Laura Brown's, efforts to create something "perfect." While Laura Brown lamented the fact that her cake was a failure, Mr. Cunningham loved every morsel of the delectable creations provided by the Hopkins students who had this extraordinary opportunity to meet him and to hear him speak.
