Honoring Veterans Day with Sgt. Colin Santacroce '07

Hopkins was honored by a visit from Sgt. Colin Santacroce ’07, who spoke at assembly on Friday, November 11 to commemorate Veteran’s Day. Colin served two combat tours in Afghanistan and is currently a sophomore at Syracuse University in the ROTC program. Colin shared his personal journey from Hopkins to the Army in a candid and moving address, highlighting that learning to fail was the most important lesson he has had to learn. The community rose to a standing ovation in appreciation of his service to our country. Please see the attached videos to watch the assembly presentation.

Following assembly Colin spent the morning visiting classes, including Mr. Peters’ 21st Century Democracy class, and stayed on to cheer on the Girls Varsity Soccer team in their FAA Final vs. Greenwich Academy.
