Boys Soccer Wins Three In a Row

The Hilltoppers garnered their third win in a row and second in two days with a 4-1 victory over Canterbury in New Milford.  Simon Doss-Gollin opened the scoring just three minutes into the game after receiving a long ball from Tom Rosiello and knocking it into the right side of the net.  Hopkins scored again just two minutes later when Nick Vranos jumped on a loose ball in the Canterbury area and converted his shot for a two goal lead just five minutes into the game.  Vranos struck again in the forty-third minute after making a dribbling run from the left side and finding a lane between several Canterbury defenders.  The Hilltoppers seemed to relax a bit in the second half, allowing Canterbury to put some sustained pressure on the defense and the Saints were eventually awarded a penalty kick when their striker was fouled in the box.  Seidu Shamsudeen converted the kick for Canterbury in the sixty-fifth minute to make it a 3-1 game, but Vranos worked his magic one more time when he took a through ball from Kieran Knott and beat the goalie for his third goal of the match.
