Boys Basketball wins season opener on the road!
The Hilltoppers took to the road to open the season against defending FAA champions Masters School. Balanced scoring and a late rally resulted in a thrilling start to the the 2014-2015 campaign. The first half was a back and forth battle that saw the Panthers extend the lead to 11 just before the half. Hopkins chipped away in the final minute of the first half to cut the margin to 38-31 at halftime. The second half stayed close and the Panthers managed a five point edge with 29.6 seconds to play in regulation. A quick three pointer by Kofi Adjepong '15 and a steal and a put back by Edens Fleurizard '16 with 5.6 seconds tied the game and sent it into overtime. Fleurizard scored 6 of his 15 points in the final minute of regulation and grabbed 13 rebounds. In OT the Hilltoppers outscored the Panthers 9-7 to seal the victory. Charlie Zane '16 led the way scoring 5 of his team high 17pts in the extra session. Drew Nolan '16 added 16 points, Adjepong 13 points and Griffin Smith '16 12 points, rounded out the balanced attack by the Hilltoppers. 
 
 
Next week the Hilltoppers face Gunnerry at home on Wednesday and GFA at home on Friday night.
