Congratulations to senior Sciana Vertusma '23 who has been selected for the United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP).

Sciana, along with one other student from CT, will join Senator Richard Blumenthal and Senator Chris Murphy in Washington, D.C. representing Connecticut during the 61st annual USSYP in March. 104 students nationally, just two students from each state, will participate in a week long immersive study program, and receive a $10,000 scholarship for undergraduate study. The USSYP program aims to "give students a closer look at the three branches of government, learn the caliber and responsibility of federally elected and appointed officials and emphasize the importance of democratic decision making, not only for America, but for people around the world."

This is truly an incredible achievement, congratulations Sciana! We can't wait to hear about your experience!
