Hopkins Faculty and Students attend People of Color Conference

  
Twelve representatives from Hopkins School attended the annual People of Color Conference which was held in Atlanta, Georgia from Wednesday, December 7 through Saturday, December 10th.  Faculty attendees were Angela Wardlaw, Ian Guthrie, Carla MacMullen, Peter Ziou, Amanda Friedman, Sarah Belbita, Kathy Chavez and Jenny Nicolelli.  Student representatives were Drew Mindell ’18, Naomi Tomlin ’19, Kiarra Lavache ’18 and Elena Brennan ’20. This is the third consecutive year Hopkins has attended.

The mission of the conference is to provide a safe space for leadership and professional development and networking for people of color and allies of all backgrounds in independent schools. The conference includes general sessions with keynotes, dozens of practitioner-led workshops, extensive affinity group work, and dialogue sessions.
