Hopkins Alum Nyah Macklin ’12 to sing National Anthem at Patriots Game Saturday

Nyah Macklin ’12 will step up to the microphone at 8:15 p.m. (EST) on Saturday, January 14, 2017 and sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” to an anticipated capacity crowd of 66,000 at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA. The occasion is the New England Patriots vs Houston Texans divisional playoff game.

Nyah is no stranger to the notoriously difficult anthem. She sang the anthem at Hopkins’ 2011 Convocation featuring Attorney General Eric Holder (pictured).  And, at her 2016 graduation from Brandeis University, Nyah belted out a confident and rousing rendition that continues to be viewed on YouTube.   Click here to view. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIB_U-oMQDU

While at Hopkins, Nyah sang in the Concert Choir and was President of Hopkins’ a cappella group, Triple Trio.  She is presently working for the Massachusetts House of Representatives as a Legislative Aide.
