National Language Exam Awards and Recitations

On Friday May 19 at assembly Tilden Daniels, Modern Language Department Chair and Miguel Pizarro, Classics Department Chair announced that a record number of students received high scores in the National Language exams. Please see the list of those students below.

Throughout the program, a collection of students recited poems in Latin, Chinese, French, Spanish, and Italian. Please watch the attached videos to see the recitations.

Language Special Honors:

In French, Gonzalo Santiago de la Mora scored over 95% on Le Premier Prix du Grand Concours 2017, level 2, earning him a Platinum Medal.

In Spanish, Caroline Asnes earned a perfect score on the 2017 National Spanish Exam, level 1.

In Italian, we had 3 top scorers nationwide. These students will be receiving a money prize from the American Association of Teachers of Italian. These are: In Italian 2, 3rd place to Sara Lopez; in Italian 3, 4th place to Marion Conklin, and in AP Italian, 3rd place to Holden Turner.
