Susan Clinard in the Keator Gallery

junc•ture, an exhibition of sculpture by New Haven artist Susan Clinard opened in the Keator Gallery on Friday, September 8. Susan's work, which ranges from small to "life-size," employs found objects and intricate carving to represent faces, hands and figures. In her own words... "My work is an exploration of nature’s forms, distorted and perfect, found and inspired. It is simply art reflective of life which contains the ugly and the beautiful without interruption."

At the gallery opening, students and faculty viewed Susan's work and enjoyed the opportunity to ask the artist questions. Peter Ziou brought his art class, and his students spent the hour sketching pieces that spoke to them.

This powerful and beautiful work will be on view through October 22. Keator Gallery is located in Baldwin Hall and is open to the public during school hours, Monday–Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm.
