E Pluribus Unum: Out of Many One

- Lizabeth Bamgboye and Naomi Tomlin
E Pluribus Unum was a community arts show that featured photography, drawing, painting, and other mediums of art in the Hopkins Keator Gallery from November 3, 2017 - January 16, 2018. With a Latin translation of "Out of Many One," this name was chosen to encourage people to meditate on group identity while highlighting the importance of individuality. People were invited to draw inspiration from artists like Frida Kahlo, Cindy Sherman, and Glenn Ligon, as well as asked to consider the questions:
  • How does each of us fit into this grand scheme of diversity?
  • How do our different identities come together and function as one student body?
