On Friday, February 2nd, Hopkins Drama Instructor, Michael Calderone led a number of the Yale Children's Theater's (YCT) cast, teachers and administrators in a one-hour creative dramatics workshop. The eleven Yale students, including Rachel Kaufman (Hopkins Class of 2015) played prop games, participated in ensemble theater exercises and even recreated a few Shoestring scenic images. One image in particular was Zeus' Eagle featured in the recently published Shakespeare on a Shoestring: Cymbeline! script. YCT performs original productions and teaches their own workshops on Saturdays free to children of the local community. While the YCT spring season is set, there's talk of doing a Shoestring style show and workshops for local children next fall!
Hopkins is a private middle school and high school for grades 7-12. Located on a campus overlooking New Haven, CT, the School takes pride in its intellectually curious students as well as its dedicated faculty and staff.
