Jazz/Rock Ensemble to compete in Berklee Jazz Festival
This Saturday, February 10th, the Jazz/Rock ensemble will travel to Boston, MA, to perform at the Berklee College of Music's High School Jazz Festival. This will mark Hopkins's first-ever participation in a competitive music festival. Along with nearly 200 other bands from around the country, they will perform for a judge's panel and audience of renowned jazz musicians, including the composer who wrote some of the music they're playing!
To get ready for the competition, the Jazz/Rock ensemble performed their set in Heath Commons on Monday morning. Please watch a clip from their performance of “Phat and Sassy” by Paul Baker. We wish all our musicians good luck this weekend!
Hopkins is a private middle school and high school for grades 7-12. Located on a campus overlooking New Haven, CT, the School takes pride in its intellectually curious students as well as its dedicated faculty and staff.
