Mrs. Fasano’s Last "Cake Test"
Mrs. Fasano's American Literature class had their "Cake Test" on Tuesday, an assignment related to their reading of The Hours by Michael Cunningham. The students baked "from scratch" cakes to replicate the character Laura Brown's efforts to prove her domestic artistry. All of the cakes were deemed "worthy," as well as delicious! Despite behind the scenes baking dramas and high expectations for achieving success, every student passed the test.
This was Mrs. Fasano's last “Cake Test” assignment, as she will be retiring in June of this year. She says this has been one of her favorite assignments for the last 10 years, especially the years when author Michael Cunningham was able to visit the class.
