A Very Hopkins Holiday

Hopkins held its last assembly of the year on Friday, December 14, 2018. The much-anticipated Holiday Assembly featured music, merriment and the annual announcement of how much time and money were raised during the Connecticut Food Bank Fundraiser (CFBF). Students from all grades spent over 1600 hours fundraising over the six-week CFBF, and participated in several events including the Haunted House, Yule Ball, J School Dance and waffle sales. This year the students raised $51,019, which will provide over 200,000 meals to Connecticut families this holiday season. Thank you to all the volunteers and donors who have helped to feed our neighbors this year!

The assembly continued with performances from the Jazz Band, Orchestra, Concert Choir, J School Chorus, and Treble Chamber Choir, and the a cappella groups Triple Trio, Spirens and the Harmonaires. The grand finale was provided by the senior class, who presented a fun and unique version of “The Twelve Days of Christmas (Five Golden Rings).” This annual tradition is a way for the seniors to celebrate their class with sketches for every verse of Five Golden Rings. Have a wonderful Winter Break and Happy Holidays!
