Students visit Québec

From January 18-21, Hopkins junior school students enjoyed a four-day weekend excursion to Québec. The Hopkins delegation included 48 students and 6 chaperones. The first day of their adventure was taken up by the long bus ride north. Day 2 was their most action-packed day and included: toboggan rides on the Glissades de la Promenade Dufferin, a visit to Montmorency Falls (which is higher than Niagara Falls, but not as wide), curling, dog sledding, and a visit to a maple sugar shack--where they do-si-doed with the best of them! On the third day, they spent some time learning about the history of Quebec and the Plains of Abraham, and also had the chance to buy souvenirs and explore the oldest parts of the city. The weather was incredibly cold and brutal, which unfortunately prevented them from visiting the Ice Hotel and a winter tubing park. The weary travelers returned home to Connecticut on Monday, January 21, just in time to start Term II with memories of a wonderful school trip with their classmates. All said they would never complain about New Haven temperatures ever again as they are now "seasoned" pros at cold weather!
