Boys Varsity Basketball Mid Season Report

Collin Gernhardt '20
This past week, the Hopkins Varsity Boys Basketball Team came away with two big wins. The first one came against King on Wednesday, January 23, where they won 54-43. It was a crucial rebound for the team after a string of three straight losses.
This past Friday, January 25, the Hilltoppers hosted Capital Prep in front of a large, rowdy home crowd. Everyone came dressed up in crazy clothes and made tons of noise. Hopkins lead at the half, but Capital Prep attempted to make a comeback in the second half. But, Hopkins was able to hold them off and win 70-61. This was a very important win for the team as it gives them confidence for the upcoming week in which they face Hamden Hall, St. Lukes, and Brunswick.
