Hopkins opens the season against Salisbury

Hopkins opened its 2019 season with a 1-1 draw against visiting Salisbury. The Hilltoppers started brightly in their first game on the revamped far field. Senior Robert Tullonge played a beautiful ball into the path of frosh Max Fujimori, who scored his first career goal with a neat finish to the far post. Salisbury replied with a goal of their own before the break. Both teams traded chances in the second half before tiring in the heat. Sophomore Zach Bleil went close as did senior Jack Consiglio. 8th grader Henry Glover played exceptionally well at right-back and junior keeper Teddy Glover and sophomore keeper Owen Lamothe split time in goal. Hopkins opens FAA action at Hamden Hall on Saturday. Kickoff is at 2:30.
