Hopkins defeats Hamden Hall in FAA opener

Hopkins opened its FAA season with a 2-0 win over neighboring Hamden Hall. The Hornets are a vastly improved side and effectively got numbers behind the ball in the first half.

Captain Luca Richo eventually broke the deadlock. Max Gordon won the ball in midfield before Richo turned and unleashed an asboslute screamer into the top corner of the net.

Later in the half, Suraj Kalaria (2021) latched onto a Richo ball over the top. The junior found the feet of Robert Tullonge (2020), who put the ball on his left foot and fired another beautiful shot across into the net.

Teddy Glover (2021) and Owen Lamothe (2022) played well in goal. Avi Shein (2020), Kiernan Barket (2020), Collin Gernhardt (2020), Alex Schuster (2020), Zach Bleil (2022), and Henry Glover (2024) combined for the shutout.

Hopkins next travels to GFA on Wednesday. Kickoff is at 4:30.
