Exciting Sports Weekend for Hopkins!

It was an exciting and successful sports weekend for Hopkins! In this post, we recap this memorable and thrilling weekend!

Varsity Football — MIFL Conference Champions
Varsity Boys Soccer — Fairchester Tournament Champions
Varsity Volleyball — Fairchester Tournament Champions
Girls Cross Country — 2nd in New England Championship
Boys Cross Country — 4th in New England Championship
Varsity Boys Water Polo — 3rd in Liquid Four New England Championship


The Highlights:

The Hopkins Varsity Football team defeated Long Island Lutheran 21–7 in the MIFL League Championship game at Brunswick on Saturday.

The Varsity Boys Soccer team played against Rye in the FAA Finals on Saturday and came away with a 2–0 victory.

After advancing to the finals with a semifinal win against St. Luke’s on Thursday, the Varsity Volleyball team defeated King 3–0 in the FAA Finals on Saturday. They will play in the NEPSAC Class A Tournament which starts on Wednesday, November 17th with a game at home against 7th seed Northfield Mount Hermon.

Both the Girls and Boys Cross Country teams raced in the Saturday New England Championship (NEPSTA) at Williston Northampton in Massachusetts. The girls placed 2nd and the boys, 4th. 

In the Liquid Four New England Water Polo Tournament in New Hampshire, the Varsity Boys Water Polo Team, after winning against Exeter 10–9 on Saturday afternoon, lost to Suffield 5–14 in the first round of tournament play on Sunday morning. They played a second tournament game against Exeter on Sunday afternoon and won, 10–7, placing them 3rd in the conference.
