    Head Coach: Rocco DeMaio

The Hopkins Baseball Program consists of boys from grades 7-12 playing at the Junior School (grades 7 and 8), Junior Varsity, and Varsity Levels.  At the Varsity Level, Hopkins is a member of the Fairchester Athletic Association (FAA) that includes other private day schools from Connecticut and New York.  Hopkins Baseball also has an extremely competitive non-league schedule that includes day and boarding schools from throughout New England, and public and private schools from the entire East Coast during the annual spring training trip to Florida in March.

Rocco DeMaio returned as head coach for the 2016 season.  During his 8 year baseball tenure at Hopkins from 1995-2002, he compiled a record of 102 wins and 29 losses.   His teams won or tied for the regular season championship in 7 of the 8 years and captured the post-season tournament championships in 4 of them.  Several of his former players have continued their baseball careers at the next level. The schools they have attended include Yale, Uconn, UPenn, Trinity, Davidson, Holy Cross, Manhattan, and Fordham.   Two of his former players were drafted: Jon Steitz was the 88th pick in 2001 by the Milwaukee Brewers, and Brian Irving 507th pick in 2008 by the San Francisco Giants.

Coach DeMaio is a graduate of Trinity College where he majored in Psychology. A four year starter and standout football (Tight End) and baseball player (shortstop and closer) at Trinity college, DeMaio was voted the captain of the the Bantams baseball team his senior year under coach Bill Decker (current head coach at Harvard University), and also was awarded the football team's most outstanding offensive player in 1991. DeMaio was named to All-ECAC and All-NESCAC teams in 1990 and 1991. After his senior season DeMaio was awarded the college's top athletic award the George Sheldon McCook Trophy as the top Senior Male Athlete.
