Springhorn, Young, Compete in NEPSTA All-Star Race

Since 2010, NEPSTA has held an All-Star race the weekend after its end-of-regular season championship races.
If it weren't for the NEPSTA All-Star race, runners from the four different divisions would very possibly not get to ever race against each other.  The top 20 runners from each division (a tiny fraction of the hundreds of runners in each division) qualify for the race.

This year, junior Grant Young and senior Johanan Knight qualified. Jo was unfortunately unable to participate, but Grant raced and earned an impressive 11th place on the hilly course, running a sparkling time of 16:53. This is Grant's second year running in the race, and he improved on his last year's 17th place finish.

Hannah Springhorn has qualified for the race since its inception, running it in 8th grade, all the way through her senior year.  As a mere eighth-grader, running in a race that featured the best of the best, she "only" finished 8th. Since then, she has never finished lower than third. She finished third this past Saturday, posting her best time ever at the hilly St. Mark's course (where the race has been held since 2011), a jaw-dropping 19:06.

Congratulations to our qualifiers and participants!
