The Hopkins girls traveled to Farmington for their season opener against Miss Porter's. It was a close and hard fought game from the opening draw with Hopkins holding a slim 8-7 lead at halftime. The Hilltoppers held a two goal lead with 2:30 remaining, but Porter's got two quick goals in the final minutes of regulation to put the game into overtime. Both teams had scoring chances in the OT, but it was Porter's who were able to score the game winner from a free position shot. Sophomore Liv Capasso led all scorers with 7 goals, Annie Banks went 3 and 2, Sophia Kyrcz scored 3 goals, Lydia McGrath scored 2, Casey Goldberg added 1, and Libby Gardner had 2 assists. Aislinn O'Brien played an excellent game in goal, recording 9 saves.
