Delfini '18 Nominated for the "Heart of a Giant" Award

Mitch Delfini, a member of the Class of 2018 and tri-captain of the football team, is a candidate for the "Heart of a Giant" Award this year. The award is not based on statistics; instead, it is based on the character of the athlete. Nominees are judged in 5 categories:  commitment, teamwork, character, dedication, and will.  Mitch has already passed the first phase, which is having his nomination accepted by USA Football as a candidate for the award.  This process involved a written nomination by the Head Coach (Tim Phipps, History department), and a written application completed by Mitch.  Now Mitch will compete against other Tri-State area football players for Week 4 of the NFL season.

 

The nominee who gets the most votes wins that week and is entered into the next round of competition to become one of 6 Finalists for the award.  The winner of the award is announced in December.  If you would like to support Mitch, please follow the instruction on the flyer.
