A Successful Open House!

Sunday, October 22 was a beautiful day on the Hill, as Hopkins hosted a record 343 prospective students and their families on the Hill to learn about the school at the annual Admission Open House. Faculty and coaches greeted students as they entered Upper Heath, sharing information about department course curricula, team sports, clubs and activities, and what it is like to be part of the Hopkins community.

Prospective families gathered in Heath Dining Hall for refreshments and to hear from Pamela McKenna, Director of Admission, Kai Bynum, Head of School, and Joel D’Angelo, Dean of Faculty. The Admission Office, assisted by a myriad of parent volunteers, staff and faculty, crafted a comprehensive visitor experience which featured student-led campus tours and a popular, unscripted (and always engaging) student panel.

Ninth to eleventh graders visited campus from noon to 2 p.m. and seventh and eighth graders arrived for the 2 to 4 p.m. session.

McKenna reported that most of the students who registered indicated that they heard about Hopkins “by word of mouth”. Thank you to the entire Hopkins community for spreading the word.
