2nd Annual Pumpkin Chunkin Competition

On Thursday, December 7, Mrs. Connelly’s Applied Physics class held the 2nd Annual Pumpkin Chunkin competition on Pratt Field. The six student teams were tasked with designing and building their own “pumpkin launcher” over the last few weeks. Each design had a size limit of 2m x 2m x 2m and the cost could not exceed $150. The teams competed in four categories: distance, accuracy, most distance/dollar spent and style. Many students came out to watch the proceedings, despite the chilly weather.
