Doug Deluca '06 (UVM '10) has received national attention and acclaim for his success in establishing a club football team for the University of Vermont.

To understand the many obstacles Doug faced, you should begin here, where you'll find Doug's story when it was first reported by Ed Shamy in the Burlington Free Press of Burlington, VT in June 2007 and later published on the Hopkins website.

Most recently, Doug's story of how he spearheaded efforts revive college football at the University, from recruiting athletes to fundraising and navigating administrative policies, was featured in the New York Times on December 2, 2008. Read Doug's success story, written by Bill Pennington as part of a series examining the resurgence of club sports at the collegiate level, here.

Assistant Director of Athletics Rocco DeMaio knew Doug on and off the football field while he was at Hopkins. He said, "Coaching and Advising Doug it was very evident that he always possessed a special passion for football and Hopkins football...I am pleased to see that he has positively affected so many people at UVM and I am very proud of his persistent efforts."

You can learn more about the UVM Club Football team on their official website: www.uvmfootball.com/ssp/qb_club. And to Doug, we say, "Go Catamounts!"
