This past summer from July 13th to August 23rd 2009, Hopkins student Anna Carolan '10 and her sister, Hopkins alumna Maria Carolan '08 were featured in an art exhibition at the New Haven Lawn Club. Anna and Maria each contributed about 15 original oil paintings to the exhibition. The sisters have attended art classes at the Palette Art Studio in Cheshire, CT with teacher Natasha Piskunova for about 10 years. Anna describes their artwork: "Maria's style is more intricate and detail oriented, and her focus more in deeper shades and tones, while my style is smooth and I tend to use brighter colors." Congratulations to Anna and Maria for their successful exhibition, this is sure to be the first of many for the young artists.
