Robert Smith and the Yale Medical Symphony Orchestra
Robert Smith, Hopkins own Instrumental Music Director, has been named the new conductor of the Yale Medical Symphony Orchestra.
Last month, auditions were held for the conducting position with the Yale Medical Symphony Orchestra. Robert Smith, the Instrumental Music Director and Music Theory Teacher at Hopkins, was chosen to lead the venerable YMSO. The orchestra rehearses Thursday nights in Yale's Harkness Auditorium, and they will be performing on Friday, December 10th at 7:30pm for the bicentennial of the Medical School.
Many congratulations to Robert! We look forward to seeing the YMSO and the Hopkins Instrumental Ensembles soar under his capable direction.
Hopkins is a private middle school and high school for grades 7-12. Located on a campus overlooking New Haven, CT, the School takes pride in its intellectually curious students as well as its dedicated faculty and staff.
