The Hilltoppers traveled to Waterbury on Monday to face Chase Collegiate on a misty day. Conditions made it somewhat difficult- long wet grass tested the goaltenders, Chase’s enthusiastic style of play with the stick was disruptive, and just a single referee manfully tried to control the contest. After the terrific showing against Kingswood on Saturday, this game was a worry but Hopkins ultimately had simply too much depth. Scoring was led by Sasha Possick with four goals and captain Mark Festa with 3/4 but a number of folks contributed with goals or assists. At the defensive end, Jashon DeSenna completely contained Chase’s leading threat, John Hale and the rest of the squad shut down the door, as well. Game balls went to DeSenna and Festa for their efforts.
Hopkins is a private middle school and high school for grades 7-12. Located on a campus overlooking New Haven, CT, the School takes pride in its intellectually curious students as well as its dedicated faculty and staff.
