Hopkins Overturns Losing Streak to GFA Today with a 6-1 Win

Susan Bennitt
We had been plagued by losses to GFA in the last years, time after time coming up short of the win we hoped and worked for. This afternoon, however, we headed down to Greens Farms with our spirits high, drafting off our 7-0 sweep of yesterday, and this time around we broke the spell and came back to the hill with a 6-1 win. We played match after match of well focused tennis today. Marion, at 2 singles, building from a neck and neck first set, came back determined to lay claim to her match and finished up with a 6-1 statement. Ally and Jackie at 3 doubles split sets, but imposed themselves in the tie breaker with a 10-3 edict to finish up the day with 6 overall wins for the team. We're looking forward to a couple of solid practices Thursday and Friday and to meeting the Gunnery away on Saturday.
