A Musical Start to the Day


This morning at assembly the Hopkins Concert Choir and Orchestra started the day out on a high note, with three incredible performances.
This morning at assembly the Hopkins Concert Choir and Orchestra started the day out on a high note, with three incredible performances.

The Concert Choir began by singing Loch Lomond, a traditional Scottish arranged by Jonathan Quick.  Ethan Lester '16 was featured as a soloist. Next they performed Papa Loko, a traditional Haitian song, arranged by Sten Kallman, which featured soloists  Ellery Saluck '17, Cece Strange '16, and Rose Etzel ’15.

The Hopkins Orchestra then performed Piano Concerto No. 2, 1st movement by S. Rachmaninoff.  Hopkins was wowed by featured pianist Gyan Maria ’18.
