Hopkins Keeps Knocking King in 4--0 Tennis Triumph

On Wednesday, May 13, the Hopkins boys junior varsity tennis team had
a home match against King Low Heywood Thomas, a secondary school
located in Stamford.  King brought a small contingent of 7 eager,
sportsmanlike, but outmanned players to take part in an abbreviated 1
singles, 3 doubles contest between our two schools.  The day was dry
but breezy, with temperatures in the mid 60s.  Here are the individual
results; the number two doubles match proved to be extremely close,
with both the King team and the Hopkins team demonstrating particular
poise and perseverance, but in the end Hopkins proved just to be a
little more consistent.

Singles:

1.  Clay Wackerman (H) def. Jeffery Miller, 6--1, 6--0.

Doubles:

1.  Graham Dowd--Micah Wolfsohn (H) def. Ben Steib--Bram Brakman,  6--0, 6--1.
2.  Bryan Gu--Justin Ye (H) def. Thomas Bates--Richard Height, 4--6,
6--4, 10--7 tiebreaker.
3.  Andrew Baxter--Kyle Burton (H) def. Logan Katz--David Fox, 6--0, 6--0.

Team records:

Hopkins:  6--1
