9th Grader Will Rosenbluth created a sonnet about Hopkins for Ms. Cahn's English 9 class. In conjunction with their Shakespeare studies, the students are asked to create "The Hopkins Sonnet." Ms. Cahn says most of her students come up with fine content or good form, but rarely do they accomplish both.  She would like to share Will's poem with our community.

The Hopkins Sonnet
by Will Rosenbluth

O Hopkins, brightly does your view define
A place of hope and future undisguised
And barely is your sight short of divine
An emblem of the knowledge here so prized
When I am here, in truth I can be sure
To marvel at the blue and open sky
Your colored walkways and your vistas pure
Do shine upon a bright and wond’ring eye
---------------------------------------------------------
And yet indeed more beautiful by far
The vistas us our school has given to
Of future days that failure will not mar
A chance that’s given to so very few
This is the true gift Hopkins has to give
We won’t forget as long as we will live
