Hopkins falls to Rye

Hopkins travelled to face a very hungry Rye squad on Saturday, falling 41-7 and extending their losing streak to 4 games.

Rye came out firing on all cylinders, scoring on their first 3 drives to open up 21-0.  The Hilltoppers did not have an answer for Rye’s ground game, giving up close to 10 yards per carry over the course of the contest.  On the flip side, Hopkins struggled to establish their own ground game and relied on Nick Bailey to connect with Jacob Shrader to put Hopkins on the board to start the second half (21-6).  Unfortunately this is as close as the game would be, Hopkins allowing 3 more touchdowns before the game would conclude.  This was a down game for the Hilltoppers as they look to get back on track next week against a new Capital Prep team.  We will need your support as we host the Harbor Sharks this Friday at 4pm!
