Students Represent Hopkins in Prestigious Music Ensemble
On the weekend of April 24 and 26, Hopkins singers Quinby B. ’26 and Eleanor L. ’25 represented Hopkins at the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) All-Eastern Conference in Hartford as part of the All-Eastern Honors Ensembles.
The All-Eastern Honors Ensembles feature the most talented student musicians from 12 states across the Northeast, including Connecticut, Washington, D.C., Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
To be eligible for this honor, students must participate in the 2024 All-State Festival in their respective state before their senior year. The selection process is rigorous, requiring students to advance through several levels of competition: the Southern Regional Festival, the All-State Festival, and finally, the All-Eastern.
“Being selected is a tremendous achievement and reflects each student's talent, dedication, and hard work. We are thrilled to have students from Hopkins making music at this level,” said Director of Choral Music at Hopkins, Erika Schroth.
Hopkins is a private middle school and high school for grades 7-12. Located on a campus overlooking New Haven, CT, the School takes pride in its intellectually curious students as well as its dedicated faculty and staff.
