Hopkins Sweeps Holy Child in FAA competition Today

Susan Bennitt
It's getting old talking about the weather, isn't it? But, today we managed to sneak the match in before it rained, which was awesome. We were all wrapped in blankets and down jackets, yet again, as we cheered the girls on. We are so lgrateful for our loyal followers and the outstanding team spirit that we have.

We can't say how much we are ALL looking forward to turning the weather corner...

Today's match was just great. 7-0 sweep. Quick and decisive wins for singles, where Holy Child only took 3 games overall. Doubles was exciting, at three, Catey and Lara dominated with 6-1 and 6-0 wins, Viv and Lera came off the courts quickly with 6-0 and 6-4 wins, and then the nail biter! Juliana and Courtney split sets, dropping the first at 5-7, came back with a 7-6 thanks to a 7-5 tie-break, and then won the super tie-breaker for the third set 10-8. It was just great to see them decide the match was going to be theirs and to win. Exhibition Doubles won too, making it a huge day for the team.

Some adjustments will happen tomorrow in practice, before we meet Convent of the Sacred Heart at home on Saturday at 3:00. Hope to see you there!
