8th Graders "Step Up" into High School

On Friday, May 16, the Junior School held the inaugural 8th Grade Stepping Up Ceremony in the APAC Theater. The event opened with remarks from Head of School Matt Glendinning, followed by a moving address from Head Adviser to the Class of 2029 Ian Guthrie. Each 8th grader received a special certificate of recognition.

Family and friends of the Class of 2029 were in attendance, and each attendee received a program containing advice for the 8th graders from older students on how to succeed in the 9th grade.

This new event celebrated a significant moment for the 8th grade class, a recognition of how far they have come, and how much they have grown and learned during their time in the Junior School. They left the ceremony ready to embark on their next adventure as Hopkins high school students.
