Crew Impresses at Founder's Day

Hopkins clinched first and second place finishes at the regatta this past weekend.
12 schools compete each year in the Founder's Day Regatta, hosted by the Frederick Gunn School, at Lake Waramaug in New Preston, Connecticut. This regatta is the second largest race of the season, only behind the New England Championship.  Hopkins raced 5 Girls boats and 5 Boys boats this year.

B1 (the top Boys Boat) finished first overall with the only sub 5 minute time of the day!  In that boat were:
Cox: Julia Dimicelli
Rowers: Ben Zipkin, Henry Tanner, Jackson Mokotoff, and Savion Kaphar

They came in ahead of Northfield Mount Herman, Taft, Hotchkiss, Lyme-Old Lyme, and Notre Dame for the win in the last race of the day with an exciting finish.  Only 10 seconds separated the boats from Hopkins' first place finish to the 6th boat in the heat.  This is the first time Hopkins has won gold in this event!

G4 (the Girls Fourth) won a second place medal for their two races during the day. In the boat that won the silver medal were:

Cox: Zoya Khan
Rowers: Sonali Bedi, Julia Grauer, Anyanna Osakwe, and Kiara Volkwein

All of the Hopkins rowers had successful day!
