Swimming Starts

Julia An '21
Before the winter season even started, both the Hopkins Girls and Boys Varsity Swimming teams were hyped for the season. Passing each other in the hallways, they expressed their excitement and it seemed that all swimmers had a countdown for the first day of the season.

With both familiar faces and new swimmers of all grade levels, the team is more diverse and is reaching for even higher goals. Both teams started off by each making personal goals for each swimmer and whole team goals to aim for as the season goes on. With team dinners every Friday, the teams are able to bond and relax after a hard week in the pool.

As the girls team went into their first meet, they were excited for their first races of the season. Both the Girls and Boys cheered for each other as they beat their opponents and set best times for themselves. By starting off the season with a win for both Girls and Boys, the teams are now more motivated than ever to continue having a great and rewarding season.
