A tough battle and a scoreless result on the road.
High humidity and very poor air quality did not contribute to a very energetic start for both teams. They struggled to find their rythm during the first half of the game besides some brief exceptions when Hopkins developed some determined combinations on the flanks and threatened the Dragons' Lair repeatedly with strong performances from co-captain Emma LIPMAN '19 and Kate COLLIER '21. Most of Greens Farms attacks were turned around by Hopkins midfield or defense with good performances from Katie PARK '21,Sophia FITZSIMONDS '20. and Riley TOOKER '21. Rayane TAROUA '20 had a couple of spectacular saves to keep the Hilltoppers in the game. Somehow both teams found reserves of energy somewhere and the last quarter of the game was very spirited. Hopkins' defense and keeper worked tirelessly to fight back any Dragons' forays and the Hilltoppers threatened with more determination with better possession in the middfield with hard work from Ella FUJIMORI '21, Julia KOSINSKI '21 -back from injury- and Jenny ALASKA '22. That hard work brought some dangerous runs through Greens Farms seams by Riley LIPMAN '21 and Jasmine SIMMONS '21. Still both teams were frustrated from a victory and had to separate on a tie. Hopkins will be on the road again on Saturday at Miss Porter's.
