Hopkins came out strong and dominated against Suffield today. We had a few sloppy moments, but overall we played a beautiful game of lacrosse. We moved the ball well, closed double teams in the midfield and on defense, and took great shots on goal. Frankie De Lavis (4 goals, 6 assists) and Abbe Grimes (6 goals, 3 assists) took control on the attack and really made things happen. The team is working well together and moving the ball smoothly down the field. It's hard to believe watching them play that we actually lost ten seniors last season and only have seven returning players out on the field. The younger players are really stepping up to the challenge of playing at the varsity level and with a 4-0 record we are ready to take on Westover and Hamden Hall next week.
Goals: Abbe Grimes 6, Frankie De Lavis 4, Claudia Wies 2, Kristin DeLuca 2, Taylor Verderame 1, Hadley Brighton 1, Sarah Goldberg 1
Assists: Frankie De Lavis 6 (!!!), Abbe Grimes 3, Taylor Verderame 1, Katia Kuc 1, Kara McEttrick 1
