Hopkins 0 Kent 2

The Hilltoppers celebrated Homecoming by playing their best soccer of the year, but they still came up short to a very talented international squad from Kent.  The raucous crowd helped to spur Hopkins on to an outstanding effort as they held Kent scoreless for the first forty minutes of the game.  Just before halftime the Kent strikers scored twice in a span of less than a minute to temporarily take the wind out of Hopkins' sails, but the Hilltoppers kept up the fight in the second half and came close when Nick Zarikos hit a spectacular volley that streaked just over the crossbar.  Philip Geanakoplos had a very solid day in goal with nine saves and Kieran Knott, Tom Rosiello, and Mitch Patton anchored the defense.
