Congratulations to our Hopkins Team who competed against 50 Connecticut high schools on Saturday at the Yale Physics Olympics. Dr. Phil Stewart reports on their success!
Dr. Phil Stewart reports:
On Saturday while most of the campus was engaged in Homecoming festivities, four Hopkins students, Henry Hanlon '16, Dan Pollak '15, Zain Mehal '15, and Jacob Pierce '15, competed against 50 Connecticut high school teams at the Yale Physics Olympics. The teams endured 5 events of varying complexity, including a Fermi quiz, an optimization event, and a build event. Though Hopkins did not place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in any individual event, we placed 2nd overall as the team had a great showing in all five events. All team members received a handsome silver medal, and next year we're going for the gold!
Hopkins is a private middle school and high school for grades 7-12. Located on a campus overlooking New Haven, CT, the School takes pride in its intellectually curious students as well as its dedicated faculty and staff.
