The Hopkins Girls JV Basketball team played a tough and talented St. Luke's team at home. A rare Thursday game, St. Luke's scored the first 7 points and never looked back.
St. Luke's full court pressure created turnovers putting Hop on the defensive, and we were unable to execute the offense. Hopkins played good defense and hung around but the turnovers continued and St. Luke's built a big lead that Hop just couldn't overcome. Anna Simon, Chloe Smith, Emma DeNaples, Sam D'Errico and Elizabeth Halas started the second half well and made a game of it. Eva Brander Blackhawk and Maya Karlan were strong off the bench, as were two junior schoolers, Anabel Burtson and Fiona O'Brien.
Hopkins girls JV will play Saturday morning in the FAA Tournament at Holy Child Rye, NY.
