Dr. Stephen Scholand
"My dad has been working twelve hour shifts at night in the ICU since Easter," his daughter, Krishna '23, reports. “He sleeps all day once he gets off from work and then goes back to the hospital for another shift.”
Krishna’s dad, Dr. Stephen Scholand, is an Infectious Disease Physician and serves as the Associate Director of Nuvance Health with the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine Global Health Program. He is fighting COVID-19 on the frontlines in the ICU of the Midstate Medical Center in Meriden, CT.
“Although we are not able to spend much time with him since he is socially distancing himself from us, we still talk briefly everyday about his experiences,” Krishna said. “My family is doing well, though we worry a lot about him getting sick. It has been very stressful, but he knows that he has to keep going to help his community."
