Opening Day Assembly Kicks off the 2022-2023 School Year

A little rain couldn’t stop the Hopkins community from gathering on the morning of Tuesday, September 6 for a traditional opening day assembly in the Athletic Center.

After students, faculty, and staff wrung out their umbrellas and found their seats, they were greeted by a warm welcome from new Head of School, Matt Glendinning, who kicked things off by introducing himself and ringing in the next chapter of Hopkins School. The assembly also included new faculty/staff announcements, and an annual countdown for each class from Student Council President Joy X. '23. Among other special moments was a musical performance by seniors Nick L., Matt D., and Melody C. of Merry-Go-Round of Life (theme from Howl’s Moving Castle) by Joe Hisaishi.

Please watch the full assembly video below which also includes photos from today’s festivities.
