Celebrating Hopkins' Historic Theater Building Lovell Hall

At an all-school assembly on Friday, March 31, the community shared in a celebration of Lovell Hall, which closed its doors permanently on March 10, 2023, to make way for a renovated Academic and Performing Arts Center.

To begin the celebration, Head of School Matt Glendinning revealed the excavation of a time capsule that had been hidden behind the corner stone of the building in 1959, when the building was first completed. After a video of the excavation was shared, Matt showcased and discussed some of the artifacts that were found inside. The celebration continued with a special tribute video, with collected memories and messages of thanks to Lovell from students and alumni.
