Hopkins finally experienced some spring-like weather this week and enjoyed playing under sunny conditions with temperatures in the 70s and only a slight breeze. Masters made the trek up 95 today to play us on our home courts and the matches were exciting. Team Aiden/Aidan quickly claimed their match to get us the first point. These guys dominated the net and hit many unreturnable shots against their D2 opponents. Eric and Aarya's debut went exceedingly well as they covered the full court against the strong forehands of Masters D2. Jake clamed the first set handily but his opponent rose his game significantly and forced Jake to make a number of errors in the second. The ten-point tiebreaker was very close but unfortunately went to Masters. Max and Gray finished roughly at the same time, both with "Ws" that they earned with aggressive shotmaking. Bryan struggled in the first set, found his rhythm in the second, but came up a bit short against a steady player. And Team Ashwin/Advay were dominant at D3.
Thanks, folks, for the pizza, and thanks to all who came out to cheer on the boys. It was a great day to play and to watch tennis. We'll get back to work tomorrow and Friday to get our "A" game ready to face Brunswick at their school on Saturday at 2.
